The IDSC For Life email was flooded this weekend, with new people who want to be a part of this. I wish I could repost every single one of their emails.

Our families have needed this so much, and it is so neat to see so many people coming together to stand up and say we believe all life is precious. The last week and a half has been SO amazing. The one thing I hear is, I wish I knew about you sooner.

I thought it already was on FB at one point? No???

Di, you may not be able to present, but you can certainly set up a table at the conference. MANY more people will be reached that way since everyone hangs out in that area the most. We are going to Texas and would love to see you there

If they will let RR have a table (and they are), then they will let IDSC. Adoption is a "touchy" subject too and believe me when I say that there are many hate filled people out there that make nasty comments about it. Hey, you can set up the IDSCFL table up right next to RR.....talk about 2 powerful statements right there together!

Now, they may put us "controversial" folks way in the back corner, but that ok...we can talk loud

Debbie is heading up the RR stuff and there will be a HUGE RR presence there....would love to see you guys set up there as well!!!!

There are many people that believe that we should not adopt "foreign" children....and that we are "draining taxpayers" with our children and all of that. You would not believe the horrible and hateful comments that many families receive. It's not necessarily the adoption part as much as it's the INTERNATIONAL part that gets people all riled up.

Okay, got it. Yeah, more of the same, "These kids cost money, get rid of them, or don't bring them in." mentality. A little bit of vomit just came up when I read this, and wrote that.

I had only heard of people who think this way before TODAY! This afternoon, I was at a store we frequent are are quite friendly with the owners. I mentioned that we were adopting internationally. The owner lady looked at me and said "You should adopt from here" There was no question how she felt in the way she said it. It cut deep, and all the things I had wanted to say- about him being SN and not wanted in his country, and how we hope to in the future be foster parents, etc, etc- they all got locked up in my brain. I really wish I didn't work that way. I envy those who can speak their thoughts 'in the moment'. My thoughts seem to only come after I've had time to think things through- not a great thing for advocating

Oh Ruthann, I am so sorry! Sending you a hug! I cannot imagine how much that hurt! I hope you see that person, after the adoption, so that your little one can change her heart.
